STEM Initiative

The demand for skilled workers in Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math (STEM) is closely linked to global competitiveness. While the United States has many talented scientists, engineers, and mathematicians, not enough students are graduating with STEM backgrounds to fill the open positions in the marketplace.

Women In Defense (WID) Capitol kicked off its STEM initiative in 2010, engaging with local schools and businesses to encourage and inspire young women to pursue STEM careers.
